Please join the K-6 North Caldwell Board of Education on Wednesday, May 31st at 7:00 p.m. in the Grandview Cafeteria for the second Community Open Forum regarding the expansion of our elementary schools. Over the last year, the Board of Education has discussed the long-term capital requirements of Grandview and Gould schools in light of aging buildings and expected demographic changes within North Caldwell.
The Board, in cooperation with our architectural firm, has compiled and reviewed a list of the District's short-term and long-term facility needs and developed a number of school expansion options for consideration. At this Open Forum, the Board will share additional updates with the community and gain input and feedback before the Board makes any capital or long-term planning decisions. Please plan to join us to be informed and to share your perspectives with the Board.

Grandview Field Day is scheduled for Friday, June 2nd, with a rain date set for Tuesday, June 6th. This year's Field Day theme is Barnyard Blast. The students will be participating in physical activities related to farm themes (some include water). The students will be split into 6 teams, organized by color. Students will participate within their grade level in events that are 8-10 minutes long. A few days prior, teachers will assign groups and colors to your children. Students are encouraged to wear the color of their group for the day as well as comfortable and appropriate clothing for exercising. Students should be reminded that they MUST wear sneakers to participate in Field Day. All students will receive Ice Pops made in a nut free facility as a snack and will have many opportunities for water breaks.
This event needs LOTS of volunteers - almost 20 per grade. First and Second grades are scheduled for the morning and Third grade is scheduled in the afternoon. Please use the signup genius link to volunteer at www.SignUpGenius.com/go/5080F4BA5AF2CAAF94-volunteers. Field Day is a lot of fun and a great way to spend time with your children. We look forward to seeing you there. If there are any questions, please contact Allegra Simon at Legs1019@aol.com.
