Please click on the revised school calendar to see the recent changes. There will be no school on Friday, May 26th through Tuesday, May 30th. School will resume on Wednesday, May 31st.
Please take a moment to check your child's lunch account to ensure there are sufficient funds to carry him/her through the last day of school. Please stop the auto replenish feature at this time to avoid balances through the summer.
On Wednesday, May 31st, Pomptonian will offer a specialty sushi lunch at Gould for $4.75. Click here for the flyer.
Dear Parent/Guardian of Outgoing 6th Graders,
As the school year draws to a close, and your child is preparing to move on to Junior High School, the North Caldwell Partnership for Education and Pomptonian Food Service want to take this opportunity to wish you success and thank you for allowing us to serve you.
Please take a moment to check your child’s lunch account to ensure that there are funds available for purchases you would like him/her to make and stop the auto replenish feature at this time. For your consideration, following is the procedure for handing open credits on the lunch account of graduating students.
At the conclusion of the last week of service:
• Any student with a younger sibling in the North Caldwell District will have the credit transferred to the next youngest sibling in the district. Those funds will be available for their siblings use in September.
• If there is no sibling to transfer funds to, a refund for any amount over $10.00 may be requested and a refund check will be mailed to your home. Requests for refunds should be received no later than June 30th. Please send your requests to firstname.lastname@example.org and include your student’s name, parent name, and preferred mailing address for the check. Once the balance is confirmed a check will be issued, allow 2 to 3 weeks.
• After June 30th, any remaining credit balance will be included in a check payable to West Essex Regional High School for deposit into your child’s West Essex lunch account. This transaction will be completed prior to the start of school when the incoming students have been added to their system.
Thank you again for allowing us to serve you. Best wishes for a healthy and safe summer.
Gina Maffucci, Operations Manager
Please join the K-6 North Caldwell Board of Education on Wednesday, May 31st at 7:00 p.m. in the Grandview Cafeteria for the second Community Open Forum regarding the expansion of our elementary schools. Over the last year, the Board of Education has discussed the long-term capital requirements of Grandview and Gould schools in light of aging buildings and expected demographic changes within North Caldwell.
The Board, in cooperation with our architectural firm, has compiled and reviewed a list of the District's short-term and long-term facility needs and developed a number of school expansion options for consideration. At this Open Forum, the Board will share additional updates with the community and gain input and feedback before the Board makes any capital or long-term planning decisions. Please plan to join us to be informed and to share your perspectives with the Board.

Superintendent of Schools
Grandview Field Day is scheduled for Friday, June 2nd, with a rain date set for Tuesday, June 6th. This year's Field Day theme is Barnyard Blast. The students will be participating in physical activities related to farm themes (some include water). The students will be split into 6 teams, organized by color. Students will participate within their grade level in events that are 8-10 minutes long. A few days prior, teachers will assign groups and colors to your children. Students are encouraged to wear the color of their group for the day as well as comfortable and appropriate clothing for exercising. Students should be reminded that they MUST wear sneakers to participate in Field Day. All students will receive Ice Pops made in a nut free facility as a snack and will have many opportunities for water breaks.
This event needs LOTS of volunteers - almost 20 per grade. First and Second grades are scheduled for the morning and Third grade is scheduled in the afternoon. Please use the signup genius link to volunteer at www.SignUpGenius.com/go/5080F4BA5AF2CAAF94-volunteers. Field Day is a lot of fun and a great way to spend time with your children. We look forward to seeing you there. If there are any questions, please contact Allegra Simon at Legs1019@aol.com.
We have begun planning for the 2017-18 school year. Below, please find the slate for the open NCPE Board Positions (beginning June 2017):
